Medium light-beige head over hazy dark amber-brown beer. End of bottle solid yeast. Warm, dark malts; hint of chocolate and garden herbs, leafy. Some nondescript herb or spice - warming up, I’d guess coriander; generally rather neutral smelling, except for the malt-sweet hints. Bitterish-sweetish flavour; spicy as in speculoosherbs. Dry finish. Again dark(er) malts (and yeast) determining the overall flavour. Seems well-attenuated. Watermelon, warming up. Feels pretty carbonated, very slight burning sensation, medium bodied. Certainly not bad, but a bit - neutral? I like that this one is qualified as an "abbey tripel". In a competition as WBC, let alone for BJCP, it would be thrown out on sight because of its colour. And I think Ratebeer has it right!
