This is getting big promotion all across Paris on billboards, so this winter at least it should be widely available in France. Nice dark amber colour with a foamy head. Soft cherry aromas buried in a nut and wood mix that emerges from mostly malt ingredients. Taste is a lot of mahogany and oak with an alcoholic and watery finish. Another miss by Leffe, this is okay but could be much better.

(bottle, 33cl) Clear, ruby amber colour with a big and tanned foamy head. Sweet and slightly toasted malty aroma with bready and subtle fruity notes, as well as a spicy touch. Moderately sweet and slightly bitter flavour, medium bodied with a moderate carbonation. Malty taste with notes of caramel, bread, chestnuts and shy berry-fruity notes; sweet and slightly bitter nutty and slightly spicy finish. Not world-shaking but pretty drinkable. 15.XI.10

[2010 - 7,4,6,3,14] 33cl bottle from kihoskh. clear red-brown, smooth ofwihte lacing head. aroma is distinctly belgian. sweet red and dark fruity aroma, alc. adds a little bitterness. fine aroma. flavor is caramel, red and dark fruity, faint spicy. faint bitter nutty, faint dark caramelly. bittersweet faint dark fruity christmas brew. re-rate 2022 bc ratebeer phone app does not show you have rated a beer if it is an alias, so I accidentially bought this one again. as leffe Noël. aroma of nuts, syrup, dark malts, faint and very well balanced brown cake spices. great aroma 7 - bordering 8. apperance 3. flavor is brown cake spices, christmas spices, dark malts, nuts, sweet nuts, syrup, belgian yeast. basically tastes like a good belgian dubbel with som added cristmas spices. However, the beer is very well balanced imho, and the spices and the dubbl flavors blend in near perfectly, giving a traditional danish christmas beer flavor, only even better because of the belgian expertise in brewing dark strong beer in the first place. Also somewhat affordable in the supermakets, this has to be a hit. Certanly a step-up from most danish macro breweries' christmas beers. The beer has great body for a 6.6%. it is easy drinking and a total sipper. 8 palate 3 overall 15 my original rating has been changed to the new values.

Bottle: Poured a clear medium burgundy color ale with a large foamy head with good retention and minimal lacing. Aroma of candi sugar and fruity ester is OK for style though I have smell better. Taste is also a nice enough mix between some candi sugar notes with some light Belgian malt with light notes of fruity ester. Body is too light for style with medium carbonation and no apparent alcohol. OK at best but I must admit to having tasted better Belgian Christmas beer in my life.

Bottle. It’s a clear, copper-colored beer topped by a beige head. Dried fruits and some alcohol on the nose. Full-bodied and nicely carbonated. Sweet, caramel flavor with a balancing bitterness. Dreid fruits and dark sugars too. Bitter finish with roast malts and sweetness. Overall, a nice beer considering it’s brewer, but it’s too anonymous to be really good. Rating: 6-3-6-4-13-3.2. 100326

Bottle. A clear, dark amber to brown beer with a minimal beige head. Dried fruits, raisins and figs, with brown sugar and caramel. Some alcohol notes. It’s full-bodied and slightly warming, too sugary, but quite well-tasting. Slightly roasted, some spiced notes and also some caramel and a good dash of dried fruits. But too sweet. Sweet finish with dried fruits, alcohol notes and brown sugar. A nice beer indeed, but a bit on the sweet side. The aroma is definately the best of it. 100711

Bottled. A deep red beer with a lazing off-white head. The aroma has notes of nuts, malt, caramel, and some yeast lending it a bit of fruit. The flavor is very sweet with notes of caramel, malt, nuts, bread, and a bit of metal, leading to a dry metallic and nutty finish. Thanks Papsoe for this beer.
