Keg at The Hanging Bat. Black body with a medium beige head. Faint lacing. Aroma of treacle, prune, nuts and Marmite. Flavour of chocolate cake, sulatanas, rich roasted malts and cocoa powder. Medium body with a smooth mouthfeel. Soft fizz. Rich and delicious. I loved this so much that another two 1/3 pints were ordered straight away. If it was available in bottle, this would be ever-present in my fridge. Very, very good.

At Hanging Bat, thanks to the brewer and local beer pervert BenH. It pours black with a small tan head. The aroma is rich roasted malt, earthy, charred accentst, oily, treacle, toffee, and a decent hit of coffee. The taste is slick, oily, touch of bitterness, intense coffee, roasted malt, coffee cake, treacle, fruit cake, toffee, slick, chewy and some peppery spice with a smooth, oily finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Nice and robust with some warming spice. Fun.
