Bottle, 22oz. An almost clear one, dark, dark reddish brown, topped by a dense, finger-thick tan head. There’s loads of coffee in the aroma, with chocolate, roasted malts, alcohol notes, booze and a touch of molasses and dried figs. Lots of flavor too, the coffee plays a major part. Molasses and dried figs, coconut hints, bourbon and vanilla hints and quite a lot of sweetness. Full-bodied, lightly warming and almost sticky on the palate. Pleasant carbonation level. Really lasting finish. Perhaps a tad too warming, but I don’t mind, and it’s not that warming and boozy. Lovely coffee impact, and overall, just lovely. 140418

Sample from 65 cl. bottle. Pitch black with a thin, tanned head. Roasted aroma with herbal hops, red berries, rich coffee notes and chocolate. Taste is bitter. Full body with a creamy texture. Finishes dry and bitter with roasted malts, coffee beans and chocolate. Excellent beer, really hint the spot for a coffee lover like me.

Bottle thanks to Matt. Pours a very dark brown and small beige head that diminishes quickly. The aroma is bell peppers, coffee grounds, and roast. Medium mouthfeel with light roast, coffee, and chocolate. Good.

Sample at Kurtkeller 005: Coffee-tastic 01 on 02/08/2014. Pours brownish-black with a medium tan head that diminishes steadily to a film. The aroma is roasted coffee, bourbon and oak. Full-bodied with flavors of oaky bourbon, black coffee and dark chocolate. The finish is somewhat boozy with a lingering roast coffee aftertaste. Enjoyable beer all around.

Bottle from Belmont. I wasn’t sure how this would turn out, coffee isn’t my main interest, but it is damn good. The treatment rounds out the heat and harsher flavors these variants get. Pours a pure viscous black oil can color with a small beige head. A huge coffee nose, bourbon, roast. The flavor is milky coffee, heavy roast, sweet vanilla and bourbon barrel, only light heat. Nice smooth palate. Great beer.
