Unfiltered German-style Helles

Marie-Ange (1907 – 1996) is our maternal great-grandmother, fondly remembered as Mémé. Born in Quebec, she emigrated to the Northeast Kingdom with her husband Edward J. Fournier. In her honor, we brew a beautifully soft, Unfiltered and naturally carbonated German-style Helles. Lightly hazy, naturally carbonated and truly enjoyable, this is the beer we dream to have shared with Marie.

Can: Poured a nice bright golden color lager with a huge white foamy head with great retention and some lacing. Aroma of cereal notes with light dry floral notes and some subtle butter notes are also discernible. Taste is a nice mix of cereal notes with some light residual sugar notes with some light butter notes and dry floral finish. Body is about average with good carbonation. Solid rendition of the style with great drinkability.

A pale blonde pils with a thin white head. In aroma, nice German biscuit malt with grassy floral hops, loads of chalky character, pleasant. In mouth, a nice biscuit malt with German hops, light chalky notes, nice and smooth. Growler at Pushkinwows Xmas 2018 gathering.

Pours a very light golden yellow, with minimal head. Aroma of grass, straw. Flavor is quite gassy, with some light pepper, and crackery malt. It's all right, I guess.

Tap at Dive Bar, Worcester. Color is slightly cloudy golden with small white head. Aromas and flavors: Some fruits, some grain, sweetness, some honey and malts. I don't like sweet malts in this one and still wondering why this is style RB1. I have had better helles from Finnish microbreweries.

Gold Star Beer Counter, Brooklyn tap: pours gold with a white head. Aroma is light fruity, bready, light hop touch. Super easy to drink. Subtle. Hard to really call this a helles, but yeah...
