Subtlety. That's what makes Avalanche amber ale such a treat. We blend pale and caramel malts – and just a kiss of bittering hops – to create a refreshing-but-flavorful, any-time beer. Aromas of pale grains, a semi-sweet middle and a clean-as-Colorado-snow finish make this our best-selling beer.

12 ounce bottle. Amber orange color. Small beige head. Caramel malt nose has notes of butterscotch. Tangy, bready malt flavor. Light bodied with notes of honey. Grainy and sweet with little hops to speak of. A bit lacking.

Some wonderful toffee and caramel flavors in this beer, coming out more as it warms. The best part of this beer was its taste.

Bottle poured into a shaker. Pours a clear light amber with a thin ring do white head. Aroma of caramel and a little Roasty malt. Taste is similar. Very lightly bitter with some Roasty malt. Meh, good but not great.

Reviewed from notes. Consumed June 13, 2014.
The appearance is a light amber color that leaves the same color body with a two finger white foamy head that dies at a moderate pace leaving some light clingy foamy lacing.
The smell has some biscuity malt, super muted barley, and light caramel.
The taste is bland through previously mentioned flavors with a muted sweet aftertaste and dry slightly sweet finish.
The palate is light, sessionable, and the carbonation seems to be spot on for the style and for me.
Overall, uh... just not a very good taste, I was pretty disappointed with this one for me, though I would say only decent for the style.
