Agave complements the refreshingly light quality of our wheat and adds a subtle note of flavor that expands this beer’s uplifting taste profile. It is familiar, yet creative.

On tap at the Yard House, Houston. A hazy golden orange beer with a thin, dense, off-white head. The aroma is pretty sweetish and candy like, sweet oranges and some yellow apples. Some malty sweetness in the flavor, with the fruityness dominating. It’s not as sweet on the palate as I’d expect judging from the aroma, actually it’s pretty dry. A bit much carbonation, medium body. Fruity, sweetish finish. Quite decent this one. 140516

Purchased at Binny’s in Chicago, IL; enjoyed at home while watching baseball highlights on what will hopefully be one of the last cooler nights of the season. Appearance is a cloudy bright gold with a moderate white head that dissipates. Aroma is sweet with highlighted wheat notes, light lemon. Taste goes down with a light crispness with light syrupy sweet notes, in all honesty not too bad, just decent.

Sample at the brewpub. Poured a hazy medium amber with a round white head. The aroma is weak malt and yeast with a weak sour flavour. The palate is weak apple acid and not a lot else.

Pours cloudy, fizzy gold with a short, off-white head. Wheaty, spice-floral scent. Taste is wheat, orange/lime/agave... Bright and refreshing.

bottle from Denver. I think that I have also been at the brewery while doing a brewery tour in Denver some years ago but probably didn’t try this one. Concept seems to be interesting, I wonder if agave nectar contributed also something to fermentation process or not. Label design interesting, I guess agave equals Mexico - there is a picture Dia de los Muertos themed skull with some barley stalks. Beer pours nice and golden, with a small head that disappears soon. There is something raw or grassy in the aroma, probably hinting this agave thing. I like this sweetish smell, it sets this beer apart from others a bit but is not too overwhelming to become unpleasant. Taste - wheat beer with some agave notes and a dry grassy finish. Not bad at all but probably also not something I would start craving after I finish this bottle. Overall a decent beer with an agave twist.
