Just over 4 miles from our little brewery is the field where we grow hops and barley. Part of this field was once owned by the church, known as glebe land. For this beer we use only ingredients grown on our field, onsite well water and our own locally harvested yeast. To our knowledge there is no other beer like this in production. The wort was run straight into oak barrels where it slowly fermented for 7 months. The result is wonderfully balanced and almost cider like, it is golden and still because no priming sugar was used. This is a rare beer, harvested from our local earth without the aid of either artificial fertilisers or pesticides and with no added constituents from elsewhere. A simple beer brewed in honour of our Suffolk soil.

Bottle bought online from Hoptimism. Pours mid golden, with zero head. flat as a pancake. On the nose there are cider apples, oak & light funk. Taste is more of the same, with some hay and gentle lambic like notes. Like a rich golden flat cider with very gentle tartness. Light body, zero carbonation. An interesting beer of decent provenance, doubt it would be everyone’s cup of tea. But I enjoyed it
