This massive Stout pours a mahogany black with a thick, brown head. The aroma is all chocolate and toasted malt. The first wave of flavor embraces anise and dark, bitter chocolate but opens up to include coffee, smoke and rich sweet malt.

A thin tan head on a coffee coloured body. The nose is rich and prominent with dark chocolate set off with hints of vanilla and dark fruit. The dark chocolate leads the taste profile, supported by solid hops, some coffee, vanilla and thick roasted malt. Elements of ripe blackberries, crème brule and oatmeal thicken up the taste profile, supported by a thick slightly sticky body. Very tasty.

Bottle [from trade with cavemanlawyer, huge thanks!] @ weekly tasting shared with Dutchdrebus. Opaque pitch black color, medium to full sized brown head that lasts for a long time and leaves perfect lacing. Wow. Aroma is malts, wood lightly, liquorice, a slight hint of coffee. Taste malts, roast, dark malts, liquorice and firm bitterness. Full body, medium carbonation. Solid imperial stout, not complex, pretty basic but a solid stout for sure.

Bottle @ benzai (10.8% according to the bottle). Black with a large brown head. Smells roasty, coffee, earthy. Tastes roasty, licorice, coffee, earthy, slightly soja, salmiak. Hint of vanilla in the aftertaste. Lasting taste, full body, soft carbo. Not spot on for me, but still a very nice brew.

Pitch black color with creamy light brown head. Nice roasted malt character with dark fruit, moderate sweetness, smooth velvety mouth. Low carbonation. Very full bodied. Lacks bitterness in the finish. Very approachable beer, but doesn’t take me anywhere that special and compared to Big Bad Bap this is a step down.
