A dark and distinctive traditional stout. The initial flavour hints of cocoa followed by delicate coffee and molasses with a tremendously silky thick mouth feel provided by the addition of oats. Solid and satisfying.

Third at Head of Steam in Leicester. Shared with Finn. Filmy layer blanketing the glass. Dark brown coloured body. Earthy malts and oatmeal on the nose. Taste of toffee, earth and oatmeal with a note of liquorice to a fine roasted ending. Smooth on the swallow. Medium bodied. Pleasing. (10.02.2019).

Cask @ Calans, Hebden Bridge. Very dark with a creamy off-white head. It’s slightly milky with stated roasted malt in both aroma and taste.
