Can from Gedeelde Vreugde. Cloudy black, thin, dark beige head. Aroma of melting chocolate, maple syrup, blueberry jam, dark fudge, pancake dough, brownie, candied date, creamy mocha, vague coconut. Taste has very sweet date & blueberry coulis in a chocolatey, doughy & cookie-like malt body with sticky maple & caramel accent, softly bitter cocoa nibs too. Softly earthy hoppy finish, lingering chocolate & blueberry jam, bit tart, warming chocolate jenever-like alcohol in the end. Full body, oily-sticky texture, soft carbonation. Needs more balancing roastiness but I dig the blueberry accent.

At Happy Pub, Bucharest. Shared with lovely Anja! Black, small tan head. Clean blueberry and roasty aromas, hints of coffee. Dry roasty balanced with some fruity sweetness. Smooth, medium to full body, moderate carbonation, lasting dry finish with lots of blueberry aroma. Really nice balance and full taste.

--- Beer merged from original tick of Dumpster Bear on 06 Apr 2017 at 10:02 - Score: Appearance - 8 | Aroma - 7 | Flavor - 7 | Texture - 8 | Overall - 8. Original review text: 33cl bottle. Dark brown pour with a thin beige head. Notes of roasted malts, fresh blueberries, and some chocolate. The fruit is easily identifiable and fresh, but the beer itself is a bit lacking. Still pretty enjoyable.

BOTTLE 3 CL from Berero. Almost black, faint ruby highlights, fast diminishing mocha head. Smells mostly like blueberries - sweet pulp and astringent skins. Some roasty notes behind, more like toasted sunflower seeds. Subtle hints of alcohol. The taste is more balanced, still quite fruity, moderately sweet by milk stout standards. Unfortunately, the base stout is not quite up to the challenge - lack the body and the smoothness, the bitterness in the finish has a harsh burnt oil like note. Not bad, not great either.
