Northbound 34 Oak Smoked is a Grätzer or Grodziskie, an almost defunct beer style from Grodzisk Wielkopolski, Poland, from 1793 to 1918 the town was German (Prussian) and was called Grätz. This beer style is brewed with oak-smoked wheat and is top-fermented, resembling a German Hefeweizen but with a smoked wheat flavor.

500ml bottle. Slightly hazy amber with a medium white head. Sweet, malty, floral aroma with little if any smoke. There is smoke in the taste, but not as much as I’d hoped for. Also caramel and coriander

Bottle 0.5l. Slightly cloudy, gold colored. AROMA- flowery, lightly smoky, yeasty, apples. FLAVOR- smooth, neutral, a bit bitter, light smokiness, malty,apples.

Bottle from McHughs. Deep lemon with a thin head. Aroma of lightly smoked malt. Flavour has a decent level of rauch, citrus and a little honey on the finish.

Bottle thanks to Paul. Appearance - golden with a nice fluffy head. Nose - light custard, gorse. Nae smoke. Taste - definitely smoke on the taste. Then smoky custard. Palate - close to medium bodied with a creamy yet smoky texture and a a dry smoky finish. Overall - yeah, a bit of a grower.
