Bottle from O’Brien’s, Athlone [310517]
Dark amber, clear, thin white head
Aroma - Soft caramel malts, very light citrus lemon
Taste of caramel malts, dab of toffee, dab of stewed caramel fruits, some generic hop bitterness, light zest, touch herbal, very little lemon flavour despite the name, not that interesting
Palate - Soft carb, medium body, fairly sweet malts, some tangy bitterness from the hops. Finish as main flavour, quite dry, clean palate
Overall - Too much malt cramping the hops here which aren’t all that impressive here anyway TBH

Draught at Whelans. Cloudy yellow with a solid head. Aroma of crushed fruit. Flavour of citrus hop, crisp lemon, a little grain, bitter lemon finish.
