Note: batch 5 and all subsequent batches are put into Red Wine Barrels (the batch number is printed on the label). All earlier batches were in White Wine Barrels and should not be rated here. Release 5 of Brainless on Cherries, has a new twist- we used Red Wine (cab and syrah) barrels for the second fermentation and aging as apposed to White Wine barrels. The result, dryer, lighter body, fruit shines thru and a bit of tannin and wood notes in the finish

Sampled on draft at Tapped this beer poured a pinkish red color with a large foamy pink head that faded quickly and left no lacing. The aroma was sweetish and malty with artificial cherries. The flavor was tart and sour with cherry sno-cone, booze and artificial sugar. Long boozy finish. Moderately full bodied. Disappointing.

Sampled from bottle @ Benzai’s final THT although MrHangover thinks it’s something else. Clear amber color, no head. Smell and taste malts, slightly sourish, a hint of cherries indeed. Decent body and carbonation. Ok beer.

Draft at the Epic Brewing Denver Taproom. Poured a cherry red color with a off-white pink head. Aroma was sour cherries, red wine notes. Flavor was sweet/tart cherries. Like the white wine barrel, this one is very tart, and very tasty. Booze sneaks in.

On tap. Pours a slightly hazy light red with no head. Sweet aroma of cherries, alcohol and oak. Sweet flavour of cherries, oak, red wine and Belgian yeast with a dry, slightly tart, boozy finish. Medium body with a watery to oily texture and flat carbonation. A bit too much alcohol. The peach and raspberry versions were better.
