Traditional, Caramel, Bitter – An easy drinking, traditional session bitter, brewed with lots of crystal malt for caramel flavour and extra body and balanced with the finest British hops Forest House Ale – In tribute to the history of this wonderful building, built in 1759 and at the time noted as ‘possibly the finest Georgian house in Chester’ we have named our traditional, caramel, house bitter in its honour – which we hope you will think is possibly the finest house ale in Chester.

Third of a pint on 21st Sep 2020 in the brewhouse at Chester, part of a three beer flight. Amber/bronze body, off-white head. Caramel semi-sweetness with a fruit cocktail aroma, poor condition though (like all four of their cask ales on my visit!

Third, cask at the brewhouse, shared with Finn. Clear copper body, filmy layer, scattered lacing. Moderate smell of herbal hops, hints of leaves. Blended taste of caramel and ripe fruits. Short bittersweet end. Fair enough. (Chester 26.01.2020).

Delt med Rune. Mørk gyldenbrun. Lavt tett skum. Klar. Aroma av kjeks & karamell. Smaken litt tynn. Kjeks & malt. Lett tørr avslutning.

10/2/2019. Cask at the Brewhouse & Kitchen, Chester. Poured dark amber with a small off-white head. Aroma of caramel, hops, malt, fruit and light herb. Medium sweetness, moderate bitterness. Moderate body, slight oily and watery texture, soft carbonation. Ok.

Cask @ Brewhouse & Kitchen, Chester. Nice head with good duration. Color is amber. Aroma and taste are caramel, malt, hops and has a sweet nutty caramel finish.

Cask @ Brewhouse & Kitchen, Chester. Clear brown with a white head. Aroma is sweet, malty, caramel and toffee. Flavor is medium sweet and light bitter. Sweet finish. 100219

Cask at brewpub.... Soft toffee fruit nose. Light herbal yeasty toffee malts... Quite shep neame in character... Little again character i expected fro. The regionals
