Our 10HL pilot kit is the place our brewers let their imaginations fly and lay down unpredictable, creative tracks. Our brew team use it to dial in our small-scale experimental brews, each then finding its way to our bars as a draught-only special release.

An utterly indulgent, smooth as hell Stout. With opulent flavours of chocolate milkshake, roasty espresso coffee, and mellow vanilla, this beer has a full-bodied and creamy mouthfeel.

Malts: Pale, Dark Crystal, Brown, Carafa I, Wheat and Oats
Hops: Magnum
Twist: Cacao, coffee, vanilla and lactose
Yeast: Wyeast 1272 - American Ale II

Keg at BD Soho, 20/02/17. Pitch black with a decent khaki cap. Nose is chocolate, roast malts, dark fruit tang, toffee, light spice. Taste comprises chocolate maltesers, raisens, light roast, trace of aniseed, toffee fudge, balanced spice. Medium + body, fine carbonation, drying close with a lick of boost. Solid impy stoot.

Keg at Brewdog Soho, London. A black coloured pour with a healthy beige head on top. Roasty, malty, chocolate, coffee on the nose. Tastes similar, roasty, malty, chocolate, coffee. A delicious, rich, elegant stout. One of the best Brewdog beers I have ever had, classy gear.

Keg at BD Soho. It pours opaque, jet black with a substantial tan head. Looks the part anyhow. The aroma is rich roasted malts, bitter - sweet, unctuous, big dark roasted coffee character, creamy, chocolate cake, cocoa dusting and vanilla fudge. The aroma is smooth, rich roasted malt, decadent, bitter - sweet, loads of fruity coffee, dark chocolate, chocolate milkshake, warming alcohol, mind acidity, charred action, burnt sugar, vanilla and tar with a slick, toasty finish. Medium + body, moderate carbonation and creamy mouth - feel. Very well done. Rich, yet moreish. What’s not to like?
