The first of four euro-inspired beers that will take a turn in our core range is a rich, sweet, fruity, dark wheat beer.
The traditional German yeast produces plenty of banana flavours which we boost with loads of banana puree, while caramelly malts give a dark colour, a complimentary sweetness and that caramel flavour that draws everything together just like the classic sweet treat!

Keg at Nags Head, Reading. 19/05/17. Typical hefe aroma, with exaggerated sugary banana. A murky brown. Creamy thin off-white head. Sweet. Overly so. As per the aroma, you have the hefe characteristics, with a banana milkshake streak. Light bodied. Watery. Lively carbonation. Long finish. Not that keen on this. Drinkable but the banofee element is all additives and E’ s.

On keg at Cloisters. Appearance - deep red brown. The head goes extremely quickly. Nose - toffee and barbecued banana. Taste - same as nose. Palate - close to medium bodied with a creamy texture. Rich long finish. Overall - good example of the style.
