Shared bottle at Mi2 at Cardinal 13.10.14. Mahogany. Beige head. Good lacing. Sweet, vineous and woody aroma. Old storehouse. Blackcurrant, red wine, dates and dark caramel. Sweet in taste with full mothfeel. Rum rasins, red wine and caramel. Sweet aftertaste of rasins and the finest port. No evidence of the high alcohol neither in aroma or taste.

A dark brown beer with a big and beige head. The nose is strongly dark fruity and nicely sweet, dates and raisins, honey, some lighter fruits, also some alcohol that indicates what is coming. Rich and dark fruits dominates the taste that is nicely smooth, sweet raisins, some spices, no alcohol. Taste is quite simple but balanced. Medium+ bodied that is lighten by high and smooth carbonation. Malheur 12 is better beer than I expected. Quite simple beer that is dominated by sweet and dark fruits but still balanced despites of huge alcohol %.

Flaske 0,33l fra Vinmonopolet, bestillingsutvalget. Drukket hjemme 16 Jun 13. Mørkebrun. Lavt, litt farget skum. Forsiktig prommearoma. Smaken er mandler. Bra balanse. Blir etter hvert veldig tørr. Mye kullsyre. Alkoholen godt kamuflert. Litt skuffende.

Single bottle from a SAQ private import. Pours a slight hazy, deep golden-amber colour with a big frothy beige head, good retention and some foamy lace. Sour smell at first, but some notes of nuts and cardboard are added. Then, some dark fruits appear with some hints of candy. Taste of raisins with some roasted malts in the finish. All very light and no alcohol apparent. Mild bitterness does come up eventually. Goes down quite nicely and get better with time.

Draught. Dark brown colour with a reddish hue. Dence, tanned head. Sweet aroma with heavy caramel malts, chocolate, coffee, yeasts, dark, dried fruits, spicies and alcohol. A vinous note. Taste is heavy sweet - so enjoy in moderation. Full body, thick texture and soft carbonation. Finishes surprisingly floral-bitter with a slight burn from alcohol. This is clearly a "thick", juicy beer. Still very drinkable.

0.33l bottle. This is a really blurry deep dark ruby red one with a massive fluffy beige top. In the aroma I get dark candied sugar, alcohol, sweet syrup, Belgian yeasty notes and some dark fruits. Smells nice. The taste is really on the sweet side, and your don't notice the alcohol at all before in the really warming and strong aftertaste. It's about average on the carbonation level and it has a good oily mouthfeel. Sharp and sweet with some nutty bitter and light spicy hints. Mild tones of both chocolate and dark fruits here. It's actually not all that bad this one. 18.05.2013

Appearance: Clear deep nutty brown color with a big creamy tan head that leaves a fine lacing.
Aroma: Caramel malty, fruity, some yeast, a bit sour and mild alcohol.
Palate: Full body. Mild round sweetness, and a moderate bitterness. Average to soft carbonation.
Taste: A bit sweet fruity, mild malty, yeast and some spices. Warming alcohol, not disturbing.
Overall impression: A fine and very well balanced Belgian strong ale. You just want more.
Personal stats: Bottle from Vika polet in Oslo (The Capitol you know), Norway.
