This strong ale is edging on quad territory. Comes on strong, with minor alcohol burn. Pours dark brown with thin head, aroma is sweet, wood, dried fruit. Taste is initially sweet, then spicy. Easy to drink, but sip slowly to enjoy all the flavors.

Draft @ kulminator. Pours a blackish mahogany bith some mocha bubbles. Some sourness in the nose, berries, light vinegar, roasted malts, light chocolate, red berries and light dark fruits. Taste is wattery, light roasted malts, cheap chocolate, some red berry sourness, very light vinegar, light booze and some bitter hops. Bit of a misser. Watery, lightly messy. Maybe it is just the barrel.

11,2oz bottle from Brasserie V. Unfiltered red-brown, very deep. Thin glass lacing head. Sweet, balanced. Choco-raisin-brown sugar aroma. Quite a fantastic beer, really incorporates/hides the alcohol. Light and fluffy on the palate, actually comes off mellower than the 10. Doughy, rich brown chocolate tones. World Class. The creamy brown chocolate, not roasty, tones really cover up any alcohol burn. Awesome.

Fles 33cl thuis. Zwaar, kers, zoet maar op een 'wijnmanier'. Goede balans. Eigenlijk wel lekker. (12-2012).
