Pours dark cola brown with tan head. Aromas of raisins, candy sugar and some alcohol. Dark fruit flavors; raisins, figs and plums. There is also some licorice, molasses, dough and sugar. Medium to full body with moderate carbonation and a syrupy mouthfeel.

250 ml bottle. Drink by June 2011. Super smooth, fine, tan head, just a sliver. Very dark brown beer. Fruity, hoppy aroma, with pine and citrus. Slightly reminiscent of an American Barley Wine! But is has a Belgian flair, with caramel and chocolate and raisins too. Chewy and rich. Rich, creamy, strong, huge flavor. Caramel, chocolate, hop, alcohol, raisins. Wow. Fresh fruit in there too, plus hops that are almost American. Great balance and complexity. I love it. Seems to marry the Belgian Strong ale with the Barley Wine, and to do so wonderfully.

Dark maroon color with a thick tan head that settles quickly to leave moderate lacing. Aroma of chocolate and burnt espresso. Flavor starts with cocoa and progresses to black coffee, with some light smoke. Nice.

330ml Bottle Pours out a hazy brown with plenty of yeast floating around topped with a small sand head. Aroma is great tons of sweetness pitfruit, candy, brown sugar. Taste sweet all around. The brown sugar, pitfruit and light spice make it up. Pretty good I think it hides the 12% pretty well.

Bottle. Deep brown pour with a nice beige head on top. Aroma of dark fruit. Fruity, sweet, caramel, Christmasey taste. A very elegant brew indeed which matches St B 12 and Westy 12. I could drink a lot of this!

Bottle. This beer kind of reminds me of Westvleteren 12., just not as complex. It has kind of the same palate and body. Smooth and sweet. Sweet milk chocolate, hops, spices and licorice.

Very lively out of the bottle. Almost black in colour. Powerful aroma with malts and lots of alcohol. The alcohol in the flavour is very much a warm and soft sensastion and works well against the overall maltiness of the beer. The thick texture adds richness.

750ml bottle from Liquid Solutions. Nose of vanilla, candi sugar, and golden raisins. Very dark but clear brown with a big beige head. Flavor is caramels, candi sugary sweetness, and some yeasty vanilla. Finish shows a slight tinge of alcohol warmth and some lingering candi sugar.
