One taste of Troegenator tells you this is no ordinary beer. At once malty and crisp. Traditional yet timeless. A rebel with a sweet side. This deliciously dark doublebock calls for so much grain we had to custom-build our brewhouse around it. Layered with notes of smooth caramel, stone fruit and fresh toasted grains, ’Nator is a beer for people who love beer.

Drought. Reddish brown with creamy beige head, very little rroasted malt aroma, sweetish burnt malt taste with sour cheery falvor, low carbonation, medium finish with a burnt aftertaste. Nice but not great.

Bottle from BOTW. Rich malty nose, caramel, bread, chocolate, cinnamon, brown sugar, raisins. Orange brown, clear, fine low head. Fruity and malty, fudge, dried fruits, some stone fruit, treacle. Slightly too sweet, but has a bittering, dry finish.

A fantastic doublebock, my favorite offering from Troegs. Beautiful reddish brown - call it mahogany, dark amber, whatever, it’s pretty. Light tan or beige head, creamy and medium-bodied. Packs a nice ABV punch. Mildly sweet with molasses and caramel overtones. Pleasant long finish.

12 ounce bottle. Deep copper brown pour. Small bubbly beige head. Rich bready caramel malt nose. Sweet toasted malt flavor. Notes of brown sugar, vanilla, dried dark fruit and baked bread. Chewy mouthfeel. Spicy hops in finish. Very tasty and true to the Doppelbock style.

A little bit of a sour nose on this, but all else is pure doppelbock. Dark and rich, roast grains at the forefront. Small beige head, better as it warms.

12 oz. bottle, pours a deep dark mahogany with a small beige head. Nose brings out chewy caramel malt, bready malts, and dried dark fruits. Flavour is immensely fruity, with loads of dark red fruits, some dried fruits, bready notes, and rich chewy caramel malt providing the backbone. Quite a chewy and fruity doppelbock, with a very sweet and fruity malt component. Good stuff, but gets a bit difficult to drink after a while.
