Pours orange/gold with a large head.Nose shows banana, clove, Belgian spicy phenols and banana confectionery.Flavours include more banan, some soft clove, doughy wheat and light booze.

Keg at Cafe Beermoth, Manchester. Gold pour with a white head. Nose of baked pear, stewed apple, apricot. Flavours of pear, apricot, pineapple, baked apple. Long sweet, boozy finish. Nice.

Keg at the brewery tap. Pours clear, bright gold with a creamy, white head. Big sugary wheat aroma, some banana, yeast. Big sweet flavour with light alcohol, more sugary wheat, honey, pale grains, a little vanilla. Full bodied, lightly chewy, with fine to average carbonation. Sugary and warming to finish, with banana chips, grains, wheat bread, dough, meringue. Fun one.

Tap @ Fermentoren, Aarhus, 8.1%. Slightly hazy golden with small off-white head. Aroma is malt, fruit, vanilla, yeast, spices and orange. Flavour is malt, fruit, vanilla, sweet, warming, little bourbon, notes of alcohol, orange, spices, candy, hop, notes of smoke, wood and medium bitter.

On keg at the Hanging Bat. Appearance - golden with a decent head. Nose - big banana note, then creamy orange note. Perhaps some spice. Definitely boozy. Taste - banana confirmed. Bubble gum. Palate - medium to full bodied with a creamy tangy texture and a long tangy finish. Overall - not bad, though the finish doesn’t have quite the zip of the classic Belgian originals.
