Big roasty sweet stout with the addition of both flaked (quick cooking oats) and malted oats for a soft mouth feel. In addition, Moon Dancer oysters from the Damariscotta River were added to the boil which imparts a beautiful mineral character.

Cask at GBBF 2016, Olympia, London. A black coloured pour with a medium off white head on top. Roasty, malty, coffee, caramel aroma. Tastes much the same, roasty, malty, coffee, caramel, slightly sweet, hint of dark fruit. Nice work.

Sampled @ GBBF day 1. Opaque black color, average sized off-white head. Nice aroma of malts, toasted malts, some hints of coffee in there. Taste malts, soft roast, dark malts, some hops, slightly sweet hints in the background and a slight but nice hint of liquorice. Oily texture, smooth mouthfeel.

Draft at the brewery. Aroma is barley, chocolate comma and very mild salt.
The mouthfeel on this brew is just awesome! Oats thicken it up to give it a chewy texture. The mild salty brine helps balance the nice larger amount of chocolate and roasted flavors. For a 6 % stout, this has a lot of character. Nicely crafted.
