Our first beer out of our new brewery is a homage to our building's former life as a Toaster Pastry factory. Biscuit malts give the beer a slightly nutty, crust-like flavor, complementing the fruity, jammy character of the hops. The toasty-sweet aroma, balanced by a bite of hops, makes this one of our favorite brews yet

Sample at the OTR Beerfest during Cincinnati Beer Week. Hazy copper color with a medium ivory white head that diminishes gradually to a film. Short strings of lace. Aroma of citrus, berries and hops. Medium body with flavors of citrusy hops, strawberry and crackery malt. The finish is moderately bitter with a fruity hops aftertaste. Pretty good overall.

On tap at April Brews Day, pours a hazy copper with a medium off-white head. Aroma brings out lots of bready malt upfront, followed by resinous hops. Flavour is along the same lines, with bready caramel malt and resinous hops. Has a sort of puff pastry quality. Meh.

Can thanks to cgarvieuk dregs run. Appearance - hazy deep amber with a decent head. Nose - dried orange and a touch of red fruits. Taste - more of the same. Palate - close to medium bodied with a creamy texture and a long dry finish. Overall - like it.

Can pour (with "enjoy by 3/15/16" date on bottom) into nonic pint glass from Signal Variety. Aroma is strong, dominant spruce/pine with some lesser citrus/fruit, light cracker/biscuit. Late alcohol. Appearance is cloudy light reddish-brown (like a light apple cider) with 2 finger-width off-white head with fair retention, minimal sparkle and trace lacing. Taste is as aroma with balance of sweet and bitter coming from spruce/pine dominating over fruit and late cracker/pastry. Palate is light-to-medium with soft texture, average to lively carbonation and balance of bitter and sweet finish. Overall, maybe this is not representative of what it’s supposed to taste like since it is somewhat elderly, but I’ve never had a toaster pastry that smelled and tasted a lot like spruce/pine. And, not getting much fruit and certainly no strawberry. So, not as advertised. Having said that, if you ignore what it says it is supposed to be, it is actually a pretty decent brew with some complexity of spruce/pine dominant sweet and bitter, mixing with citrusy/fruity accents and light malts.

Pours a coppery brown from a can. Fruity aroma, sort of a hearty sweet biscuit flavor, not picking up on strawberry notes, more like a general sweet fruitiness. Well-balanced, good beer.

On tap hazy light Amber smooth fine off white head. Biscuity malty flavors with some caramelized notes fairly well hopped and plenty of balancing bitterness.
