Bottle from Fountainhall Wines, Stonehaven. It pours clear dark amber with a small, foamy white head. The aroma is earthy, woody, burnt fruit cake, leather, caramel and dirt. The taste is smooth, bitter, very wood, leather, toasted grain, earth, cardboard, citrus peel and dull caramel with a dry, woody finish. Light body and soft carbonation. A fairly standard bitter. OK, but far from a game-changer...
