Bottle originally from Cornelius, BBF August 2016. It pours jet black with a thick tan head. The aroma is rich roasted malt, plenty of coffee, liquorice, malt loaf, some umami and eccles cake. The taste is smooth, roasty, coffee, liquorice, earthy, dried fruits, fruit cake, umami and a touch of spice with a smooth, toasty finish. Light - medium body and soft carbonation. Pretty nice low abv stout.

500ml bottle shared with Ashton McCobb. Pours black with a thin ring of tan head. Aromas are earthy, some stone fruit, dark chocolate, nuts, toffee, rich and fruitcake. Taste is bitter, roast, coffee, light liquorice. Long bitter linger. Interesting, and lots going on for the strength. Not sure I’d want to sit and drink pint after pint of it, but good stuff.

Bottle thanks to allmyvinyl. Appearance - opaque black with a lovely fawn head that doesn’t hang around too long. Nose - nuts and burnt toffee. Molasses. Taste - dry biyter malt. Liquorice, Palate - medium bodied with a dry crunchy middle section which continues through the very long finish. Overall - very interesting and complex.
