Brewed only once a year on December 6th, Samichlaus is aged for 10 months before bottling. Serve with hardy robust dishes and desserts, in particular with chocolates, or as an after dinner drink by itself.

Flaska från SB, 2016. Klar, kopparbrun med liten smutsvit krona. Sockersött med toner av övermogen frukt, katrinplommon, fruktkaka, efterrättsvin. Större och lite kletig kropp. Viss värme från alkoholen. Blir kanske lite mastigt och sockersött i större mängder.

Keine Ahnung, warum ich diesem Bier vor so vielen Jahren so viele Prozet gegeben habe, denn jetzt finde ich es firchtbar. Es war das unbeliebteste unserer getesteten Bockbiere und auch wenn wir uns zu dritt eine 0,3l-Flasche geteilt haben, war mehr als zu viel da. Dieses Getränk ist einfach unangenehm süß und alkoholisch. Aromentechnisch finde ich es einfach nur fade und die Süße viel zu brutal. Ein Bier das man überall bekommt, aber ich keinen kenne, dem es wirklich schmeckt.

Bottle. Clear copper color, with quite no head at all. Aroma is figs, raisins, caramel, liquor. Taste the same notes, syrupy, very sweet. Some bitterness from the roasted malts probably. You can feel the alcohol warmth, but actually the 14% is quite well hidden, I didn't really feel it. Retronasal some almond notes maybe. Medium carbonation. Good beer, not really a doppelbock in my opinion. To drink in small amounts.

2015 edition. Clear copper color , small fizzy beige head that disappears quickly. Aroma roasted malt, caramel, brown sugar, raisins, alcohol. Taste heavy sweet and light bitter, malty, caramel, brown sugar, syrupy, raisins, alcohol; sugary sweetbitter aftertaste. Full-bodied, sticky mouthfeel; rich and tasty, overall acceptable regarding sweetness and alcohol, thus well-made.

Raisinny, peppery aroma. Very sweet flavor with raiisns, cherry, porto and lots of alcohol. Syrupy and strong. No head at all, but a good lacing. Warms the body, should be far more complex after a few years cellaring.

Bottle. Austrian brewery no.47 Pours amber. Nice yeasty aroma. Taste is sweet, like really sweet, yeasty.. Quite good.

Smell-weak to medium, caramel, sweetness, spice Foam- thin, bit to medium, sweetness, alcohol, bitter-sweetness, balsam, herbs, warmth... creamy white orange color foam, tiny, disappears almost instantly. Appearance- clear, carbonated, red, brown, orange color. Taste- bittersweet, herbal, alcohol, caramel, candy, very nice and strong stuff. Very nice beer, but strong, not for normal drinking, but more for enjoying with something, recommend!

33cl bottle. From a ratebeer trade. Sorry, whoever sent this, thanks! Poured amber color. Raisins, plums, malts. Heavy malty, drenched in booze.. Still balanced. Nice to try.
