Omnipollo Maz (formerly Mazarin) is my take on a “thinker’s beer”. Rather than being big and undecipherably complex I wanted to create something that would calm a hop yearning nerve without fuddling the brain too much. In other words, a lavishly hopped ale of judicious ABV — an Extra Special Pale Ale if you will.
In fact, so extra special that it snatched a gold medal at the Stockholm Beer & Whisky Festival in 2013.
In November 2014 we doubled the hop bill.

Bottle. Nose is big pineapple, lactose, hint of caramel, lime, lychee. Taste is dank hop, leading to grapefruit rind, lime, lemon bitterness, lemon grass, grass, finish is extraordinarily dry. Slight hints of banana, lychee , and vanilla soften the hops, but this remains puckeringly bitter. Delicious.

Bottle at home. 08/06/16. Ordered from Saviere Biere (will check spelling later!). Hops with a citrus edge - not overly strong, hence tbe average score. However I’ve given top marks for apperance - probably shouldn’t inclue the bottle but it’s a lovely looking beer. And when poored it’s a hazy golden, with a good white head. The taste is medium bitter which gets smoother as on repeated mouthfulls, complimented by a creamy palate.

Hazy yellow beer, thick white head, Hoppy, fruity aroma. Flavour is sharp, bitter hop with tangy, tropical fruit. A really strong, zesty, grassy flavour. As the description says it isn’t deeply complex, but it’s a pure, strong flavour and done really well.

Taste is dry concentrated grassy, lawn, leafs, pine needles, hops, bark, hay, weeds, light malts, hints of soap. Longlasting bitterness, dry grassy mouthfeel. Nice.

Bottle sample at a tasting at Dancing Camel. Thanks rayaron & zvsn. Cloudy yellow. Great big juicy tropical fruity hops aroma. Dry flavor with juicy fruity hops, tropical and a bit citric, with moderate bitterness. Light to medium-bodied. Very good and refreshing.

Bottle from Beers’n’more. Murky yellow. Citric hoppy aroma, yet rather soft body. Crisply carbonated. Some pine needles. Not convincing.

Taste is medium sweet caramel malt background with strong citrus, grapefruit, straw and fruity hoppy aroma, yeast- bit doughy, medium+ bitterness, dry finish. Tap@Banksia, Copenhagen - golden pour with white head. Aroma and taste is a citrus and light tropical fruity, some nice floral hoppy action into the finish. Good stuff! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
