GBBF Day 2. Cask. Clear amber beer, small pale tan head. Smooth palate, mildly dry, modest fine carbonation. Light malts, some sweet dry caramel. Mild twiggy bitterness and ripe fruits. Light semi dry finish. Standard cask affair.

Bottle from The Lygon Arms, Broadway. Pours a hazy orange colour with a huge foamy off-white head. Aroma has hints of floral and citrus fruits. Taste has more floral and citrus fruits. I also detect notes of fruit salad sweets. There’s a nice but gentle bitterness on the finish. Lightish body with fair carbonation. Pretty good

Bottle from Warwick Real Ale. Appearance - deep amber to copper. Snow white fluffy head. Nose - chewy Highland Toffee and some brown bread. Taste - chewy almost burnt toffee. Brown bread or biscuit backdrop. Palate - close to medium bodied. Chewy middle, chewy slightly roasty finish. Overall - good example of the style.

Gravicask at Stratford Alehouse, half-pint shared with Finn. Clear copper body, filmy layer, scattered lacing. Promising malt-fruity aromas, toffee and ripe fruits. Rather rich taste of brittle caramel followed by a touch of dark fruits to a slightly roasted end. Quite nice. (Stratford-upon-Avon 02.02.2020).
