On cask @ Ushers Bar. Appearance - dark brown with a decent head. Nose - elusive, but some hint of hazelnuts and toffee. Taste - praline confirmed. Palate - light to medium bodied with a creamy texture and a fairly balanced finish. Overall - a good example of the style.

Keg at Andrew Usher’s. Hazy brown body with a faint off-white head. No lacing. Aroma of plum, red berries and tea. Flavour of lightly roasted malt and caramel. Thin to medium body with a light mouthfeel. Soft fizz. Fairly dull.

Keg at Ushers. It pours deep brown with a small beige head. The nose is rather sweet, cherry cola, dried fruits, sultana, plum, nut and wood varnish. The taste is bitter, dry, earthy, wood, leather, touch of cola, quite dry, varnish, fruit cake and peppery spice with a dry finish. Light-medium body and soft carbonation. A pretty standard 80 shill. A bit boring even. Meh.
