Bottle from Cornelius. Hazy golden body with a thin white head. Low carbonation. Good lacing. Aroma of black pepper, tangerine and stewed pear. Flavour of pepper, white bread, orange and a hint of yeast. Medium body with a creamy texture. Lively fizz. A lovely beer - my favourite yet from Knops (although I’ve still to try Black Cork, which I hear is mighty fine).

Cask at the Stockbridge Tap. It pours hazy golden with a thick, creamy white head. The nose is wheat, hay, ginger, pepper, herbal and bread. The taste is doughy, gingery spice, wheat, herbal, citrus peel, light bitterness with a dry finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Decent spicy notes about it. Alright.

On cask at Au Bar. Appearance - cloudy yellow. Creamy head Nose - a little sulphur at first but this clears to reveal citrus zest and a little spice. Taste - lots of wit and saison things going on here. Oranges into pineapple sorbet. White pepper and maybe some cloves. Palate - close to medium bodied with a creamy yet tangy texture and a fairly balanced dry finish. Overall - a nice departure for this brewery from more traditional British styles.

Cask at Cloisters. Pours hazy yellow, thin white head. Aromas of clove, bread. Taste is more of the same, light sweet. Finishes with lingering spice and sweet. Not bad.
