330ml bottle from Telford’s M&S: poured at home on 27th Dec 2015. Bit lively, light blonde body with a huge white crown, plenty of carbonation bubbles rising through the clear beer. Mild citrus aroma, with that ’hop’ twang ruling. The taste is also mildly citrusy, fruity and tart, with a hop bitterness bossing all the flavours. Not really my thing, but well made all the same.

Bottle. Clear golden body with a thin white head. Low carbonation. Faint lacing. Aroma of lemon jelly, Jaffa Cake and orange sherbet. Flavour of mango, lemon flavoured sweets and sponge cake. Thin to medium body with an oily texture. Soft fizz. Juicy and hoppy.

Bottle from the M&S on Earl’s Court Road. Pours gold with a slight, slight head. Aroma of citrus and tropical fruit. Med body or nearly. Flavor is citrus and some mango. Pretty hoppy and definitely bitter. Not NW US, but that sort of extreme hopping. Good stuff.

Bottle from Marks and Spencer, Enniskillen [260815]
Golden straw, clear, thin white head
Aroma of soft citus, grapefruit, soft tropical fruit, nose more muted than the Citra IPA
Taste of grapefruit fruit, grapefruit zest, bitter citrus hops, juicy soft sweet pale malt background, lemon, good flavour
Palate - Medium carb and body, bit oily, plenty of bitter hops balanced by the sweet pale malts, well balanced palate. Finish of lingering bitter zest, clean palate.
Overall - Really nice, well balanced beer, but not quite as aggressively hopped as expected. Very drinkable, but the standard Citra IPA drank before this was better.

Marks and Spencer’s the great destroyer of beers has turned up at Oakham... Nose is mango, lots of lime hints of lemon and slight honey characteristics. Slight resin notes. It’s not the hop bomb I was expecting, but reasonable. Taste is lime, mango, honey, resin, a little honey and a smooth finish. Some grain and biscuit notes. Mouthfeel is slick. It’s a decent beer that never quite gets into fifth gear, it feels muted compared to an American equivalent, and I suspect the dead hand of M&S has turned down the flavours. Still the best M&S branded beer I have had however.
