Tap at Cross Scythes, Sheffield. Clear, very dark red. Halo of tan head. Dark cherry fruitiness. Smoky. Earthy. Taste is sweet. Earthy dry, too. Light bitterness. Slightly thin mouthfeel. Shortish, dry, light bitter finish.

Draft at Beer Run. Pours a dark brown color with a medium sized brown head. Good head retention. Aroma of caramel, chocolate and smoke. The taste is smoke forward with notes of toffee malts, citrus and nuts. Medium bodied, well balanced, Nice beer.

The Sampler, Brooklyn tap: Pours black with a tan head. Aroma is dark chocolate and smoked malts. Taste is pretty similar to the aroma. The smoked malts are quite tasty. Meaty and bacon taste all over the place. Chocolate melds right in. Fun stuff.

Draft: Pours black with a short, dark tan head. Aroma is coffee, smoke, menthol. Creamy coffee, chocolate mint flavor. Robust porter-ness with a cooling herbal mint.... Really different smoked beer... Excellent.
