Cask at Munroe’s Glasgow. It pours darkest brown with a small beige head. The nose is sweet, toasty, chocolate, reisen chocolate chew, caramel and some spice. The taste is rich chocolate, big chilli heat, earth, light vegetal notes, caramel and warming spice with a lingering spicy finish. Medium body and soft carbonation. Big chilli aspect! Chocolate provides a touch of balance. Fun stuff. Leaves you feel all tingly.... Some will love this and some hate it.

On tap @ the Stockbridge Tap. Appearance - opaque black with an attractive head. Nose - not getting roasty stout notes, rather sweeter porter notes. Taste - more of the sweeter porter notes, then the chilli hits gently at first, but it builds. As you drink this, you get accustomed to the chilli hit though at the beginning it’s a little much for my taste. Palate - medium bodied, creamy and spicy in the middle and burning if elegant on the finish. Overall - good effort at a difficult style. It’s just that this particular kind of beer is not for me. The underlying base beer is lovely though.
