Strong peat smoke mix with subtle sweetness and red-berry flavours. Complex and powerful, well balanced but unmistakably ’Islay’.

330ml from Stockbridge Market. I wouldn’t be as negative about this as Allmyvinyl. I think the results are not that bad, they’re not brilliant but they aren’t as bad as some. The big point here, however, is that it’s impossible to tell what the underlying beer is, it’s so dominated by the Laphraoig or Caol Ila cask that they’ve put it in. So, is there a plan for what they want the outcome to be in the end? The Oloroso and the Finest American were fantastic beers but is this by luck, do they just assume putting in any barrel is going to improve the quality?

330ml bottle shared with Ashton McCobb. Pours a lovely dark amber with a good white head. Smells medicinal, like Laphroaig. Tastes like chewing a damp plank. Like Islay Bitch Please, which was also terrible. Woody and off.
