Bottle thanks to allmyvinyl. Appearance - opaque black with a generous creamy head. Nose - interesting combination of pine and dark chocolate. Taste - dark chocolate with a limey zing on the finish. Palate - medium bodied with a creamy texture and a long dry finish. Great balance. Just a slight astringent malt thing comes back at the end. Overall -

Cask @ Masons Arms, Todmorden. Very dark red with a small off-white head. Has a lovely smooth texture with very light coffee and roasted malt flavours.

Bottle at Craig’s. Pours dark brown with no head. Aromas of apples and pear drops, no stout character in evidence. Taste has some roasted notes, but dominated by the acetone. Something not right.

botle at home ... deep brown ... thin tan lacing ... soft acetone ... mellow roast malt nose ... dark bitter roast .. again light acetone hints ... sad really.
