A traditional dark beer, which uses 4 different malts to achieve the intense flavour with a hint of bitterness derived from roast barley and chocolate malt. A London yeast is normally used for the relatively warm fermentation, which adds a slight fruitiness to the beer

Cask version, 3.6% abv, by hand pump at The New Oxford Winter Ales Festival, half pint, shared with Finn. Clear dark-brown coloured body. Thin but lasting tan-coloured head. Inviting smell of grainy malts with fruity notes. Taste of grainy malts added by a little tartness. Roasted endnotes. Different and quite tasty (Greater Manchester, 27.01.2013).
