Cask at Hanging Bat, Edinburgh. It pours deep brown with a tiny beige head. The nose is dark fruit, caramel, earth, wood and vinous notes. The taste is mellow, wood, earth, dark fruit, berry, vinous, caramel and cola with a dry, earthy finish. Medium body, fine to lowish carbonation and slightly sticky mouth-feel. Smooth and well-integrated flavour.

Cask-conditioned at the brewery tap, the Old Tavern, Bristol 19/3/08. Dark brown with red hints and a slight, tan head that left plenty of lacing. Dark fruit, chocolate and molasses aroma with a hint of roastiness. Smooth mouth feel with more fruit and chocolate and a grassy hop finish. Easy drinking for the ABV and very enjoyable.
