Suomen palkituin olut. Musta väriltään, kuohkea espressomainen vaahto, raikas mäntypihkainen havumetsien tuoksu. Jälkimaussa napakka humalan puraisu, joka on tasapainossa mallaspohjan kanssa.

A pitch black beer with a medium, dense and light brown head. The nose is roasted with coffee, at the same time also strongly citrusfuity and fresh, liquirice, some sweetness, hint of pine needles and strawberries. Taste is powerfull, strongly roasted and grapefruity, strong bitterness, some black coffee. The end is very long and strong, sour and grapefruity bitterness stays in the mouth. Medium+ bodied, low carbonation, quite smooth to drink. The powerfull beer with the strong and grapefruity hoppyness, very enjoyable.

4.50 euro, draft half-pint at Olutravintola Pikkulintu. Fantastic pitch black pour with a tan head. Licorice, coffee & malts in the aroma. This is quite boozy for 8%, I get licorice, bitter coffee & pine. This must be heavily hopped. Pretty good but I’d probably age it to mellow it out a bit. As you drink it, it grows on you & starts to reveal hidden layers of dark malty sweetness of chocolate & a touch of coffee beans. Once you get past the bitterness it’s pretty damn good.

Draught @ the brewpub. Pours black with a beige head. Complex IS with notes of honey, salmiak, dark chocolate, vanilla, burned toffee and coffee beans. Sweetness is kind of low. Dry finish. Body has a nice lightness to it.

On Draught, Olutravintola Pikkulintu, Helsinki. Black looks with a small brown head. Nose was full of hoppy goodness alongside notes of roasted malt and chocolate. The flavour duly followed suit and struck a superb balance between the malt and hops. Smooth ,rich and just stonkingly good. An absolute belter of an impy that is up there with the best of them, and worthily celebrates a great bar. Finland’s finest fo’shizzle.
