Bottle shared courtesy of Grumbo. Aroma of fruits, cocoa and fudge. Creamy taste but a little thin. Still enjoyable.

Cask at Sun Inn, Stafford. I’m not sure if this is the same beer that others have rated. Rather than being “almost black” like they claim it was a rich ruby red ! Still it tasted somewhat like a porter so… Anyway, hazy ruby red with a small cream head. Aroma has malts and juiciness of red wine gums. Malts again to the for in the mouth, where there are cherries and hints of more generic dark fruits. It is sweet and smooth, and texture varies from creamy to slightly watery. Not bad at all.

7/8/2021. Bottle from Beer Central, Sheffield. Pours dark brown with a small frothy beige head. Aroma of chocolate, dark fruits, caramel, roasted malt. Medium sweetness and light roasted bitterness with a slight tart edge. Moderate body, average carbonation. Nice fruity porter, lacked a little body.

Third, gravicask, shared with Finn at Twickenham Beer and Cider Festival. Beige, bubbly head leaving dotted spots on the glass. Near black body. Dark malty aromas, hints of liquorice. Mixed dark malty taste profile of liquorice, ash and cocoa. Lightly roasted ending. Pretty nice. (24.10.2019).

Cask gravity at the Watford beer festival 2017. A clear mahogany brown coloured pour with a lasting loose dirty tan head. Aroma is nice bitter liquorice, earthy choc and tangy berry, burnt fruit cake.. Flavour is composed of tangy, cakey malts, dried apple, fruit, earthy choc,. Palate is rounded, semi sweet, good cask condition. Nice.

Cask @ Barum Top Inn, Halifax. Extremely dark with a creamy off-white head. Has a fine roasted aroma including coffees but it’s much less stated in its taste and fairly thin. Cask again @ Shoulder Of Mutton, Hebden Bridge, and much smoother and fine tasting for this. Much better kept in the latter than the former.
