Gazza and Dave braved the sub-Arctic morning to visit our most frequent collaborator, Dave at Raw, to create something which would have the BJCP quoting blasphemy and rattling the pitchforks; yes, it’s yet another beer we’ve made up a style for!

"Imperial Pacific Porter" is the rather grand title we’ve bestowed upon our latest collaboration brew; it’s name pokes fun at the government’s stupid new law that insinuates beer over 7.5% is the spawn of Satan and will cause the very fabric of time to implode should you drink it whilst a brew of 7.3%, like this one, is responsible drinking.... makes perfect sense, right?

And what of the beer? Well, it’s a right complex mash of Pale, Chocolate, Wheat, Carared and Carafa Spezial No.3 malts plus 15kg of luscious Dark Muscovado sugar. Add to this a big hop charge of Magnum, Galaxy and Pacific Gem and the result should be fairly spectacular; the wort was certainly tasting that way coming out of the paraflow!

This version was then fortified with some dark rum, taking the ABV to 7.6%, which according to the governmnet’s tax policy is very irresponsible and to blame for all society’s ills...
