Aus der Flasche (bbe 03.12.2016) im 2021-05 getrunken. Dieser überreife dunkle Belgier kommt mit einer tollen Balance und immer noch mit einer Süße daher, die sich trotz seines Alters noch nicht abgebaut hat. Der Körper ist schön kräftig ohne aufdringlich zu sein. Ein elegantes Malzmonster!

Bottle. A surprise it's unrated. Nose is pear drops, plums, raisin, hint of banana, malt, toffee. Taste is toffee, slight caramel, dark fruit, plum, raisins, hints of smoke, pear drops, banana, fruity, nut, touch of spice, hint of medicinal hop, bread. It's been a while since I've drunk it, and enjoyed it far more than my memory of it.

bottiglia 33 cl, bel cappello di schiuma beige fine persistente, color ambrato carico limpido, al naso vino Porto zucchero di canna caramello vaniglia frutta rossa, in bocca caramello frutta matura vaniglia uvetta sotto spirito nocciola e leggero tostato, carbonazione forte che la rende molto bevibile e bilanciata, corpo strutturato, l’alcool si sente ma non disturba, molto dolce con amaro moderato. 330ml bottle delivered from the Blue Boar and drunk at home. Golden brown, only slightly translucent with a quickly dissipating beige head. Dates and figs, a touch of brandy, caramel and brown sugar in the aroma. Sweet initial taste, big stone fruit flavours, succumbing to a lightly medicinal hop bitterness closer to the long finish. More caramel and fig in the aftertaste. Medium to heavy carbonation. Incredible stuff.

Bottle online from Beerhouseshop.be. Pours a murky mahogany brown colour with a large thick foamy beige head. Aromas of dry dark fruits, plums, caramel and brown sugar. Taste has more dry dark fruits, plums, caramel, brown sugar with added leathery notes and a bitterness that lingers on the palate on the finish. Full body with a smooth slightly oily mouthfeel. Overall i find this beer rich, bittersweet and a bit too cloying. A well made beer perhaps but not really to my liking.
