For this speciality, we use old and young lambic beer that has aged in our oak casks. When the lambic is 6 months old, we add 25% black cherries. This provokes the second fermentation. We then clarify, filter and bottle it.
The cherries and young lambic create a red beer that is both natural and fresh, with an absolutely unforgettable sweet and sour taste. This is kriek as it should be, with nothing but real cherries and lambic. There is no place for artificial colourings or flavourings.

375ml bottle, 2015 vintage. Pours a deep reddy purple colour with a thin quickly dissipating pink head. Aroma dominated by sweet cherries. Taste of sweet cherries, some sour/tartness balancing it out, rather dry crisp finish, nice that it doesn't have that cloying syrupy sweetness you get in some fruit lambics. Light body, well carbonated. Nice and refreshing, enjoyed this one.

bottle, 2016 rating - Ruby red pour with a pink head. There's a rich cherry aroma with mild funk. The flavor is of lightly tart cherries, sweet malt, and a little funk. Quite tasty.

Never hurts when you rate a 15 year old bottle of something. 2002 vintage, 750ml bottle pours a murky amber with some creamy, white head. Nose has a bit of cork, wet cardboard, some raspberry and cherry. Flavor is nicely balanced, some sweet cherry juice, not too much acid or funk, mild cheese. Finish still have a touch of sweetness but otherwise medium bodied.

Bottle shared at the Cad's leaving do - big thanks to the man himself. Vintage 2002! Mild gusher. Pours clear pink-gold with a ton of sediment, effervescence, a tight creamy head. Lots of dried cherries, a little wood, mellow funk and lemon. Light sweet flavour with lightly tangy cherries, minimal bitterness, soft woody dryness. Light bodied with fine, massaging carbonation. Sweet finish, more juicy-tangy cherries, mild aged wood. Good stuff.
