For this speciality, we use old and young lambic beer that has aged in our oak casks. When the lambic is 6 months old, we add 25% black cherries. This provokes the second fermentation. We then clarify, filter and bottle it.
The cherries and young lambic create a red beer that is both natural and fresh, with an absolutely unforgettable sweet and sour taste. This is kriek as it should be, with nothing but real cherries and lambic. There is no place for artificial colourings or flavourings.

750 ml Bottle, Vintage 2014. Pours with a hazy, red copper color and a small pastel red head. The nose is sweet cherries, almonds, some nuts. taste is rather sweet, like dark cherries, fruit-in-rum, slightly malty and good carbonated. The finish is more dry and sour. Slighltly sweeter than others.

Bottle from Crafty Bottle, Lincoln. Deep red colour with a thin white head, that quickly disappeared. The aroma is fruity cherry that caries over into the taste, which is also light sour. A veryefreshing beer

Deep ruby red. Gushing. Pinkish head. Nice genuine cherry and wild yeast on nose. Light body. Sweetish taste. Lots of cherry tastes. Tartness along. Pleasant.

Flasche („Kriek Boon", Jg. 2013, daheim gelagert). - Tiefes Kupferrot, klar.

Draft @ Metafoor, Leuven. Pale red with almost no head. Aroma and taste of cherries. Sweet and sour. Refreshing but too sweet for my tastes. Low carbonation. I don’t really care for these kind of beers but I guess it’s good for what it is.

15cl draught, glass on a tasting tray in Le Trappiste, Brugge: late Nov 2016. Red pour, off-white head. Semi-sour cherries rule the brew completely, nothing more to add really. Some Kriek beers are really sour, others overly sweet: this sits on the fence.

16th Feb 25: 250ml bottle @ De Bralle, Loker. Super sweet, cherry boiled sweets.. not taking to this as much as before.

1st Dec 2016: Bottle @ St Arnoldus, Ieper. Pours blood red, white head with a faint pinkish tinge. Aroma is vibrant sweet cherry kriek. Taste verges on the sweet side, lightly cloying, clean and lacking a nice sharp kriek edge. That said, it was pleasant and refreshing enough on this afternoon

Boon-dry cherry excellence. Good whack of tart. Love how clean the 2015 vintage is.
