33cl bottle. Pours golden with a thin head. The nose has sickly toffee. The taste has Crunchie bar and then it falls away to a bitter apple. The palate has a light body and texture and then it’s prettu much gone. Was this supposed to be a smokey ale?

Pre-release bottle from brewer
Golden, some haze, frothy white head. some lacing
Aroma - Pale malts, soft sweet fruity malts, some sweet honey, no smoke, little hop present
Taste - pale caramel malts, soft light pale fruits, soft honey, hint of smoke, touch of peat malts, bit of light biscuity caramel malts
Palate - soft carb, thin to medium body. Fairly sweet honey malts. Finish - touch more peaty aromatic smoke comes through but only slight, soft smoke linger.
Overall - This is a very subtle smoked pale ale - it works as the smoke is very restrained....its a pre-release...perhaps some more fruity citrus hops in the middle would improve it a bit but to me it’s almost there
