(Bottle, 0.33 l, 20131005) The beer poured golden an clear. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had sweetness, English hops and a hint of peat at the beginning. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were sweetness, grassy hops, mildly peat, malts and bitterness. Aftertaste was hoppy and bitter. A bit harsh and unbalanced brew. Not bad.

33 cl bottle @ home
Aroma has grainy malt, honey, some grassy notes and slight smoke aromas – feels like a pale lager. Flavour has smoke, some woody notes, ash, peat, toffee and grain. Finishes with slight bun dough -like yeasty notes. Reminds me of some mildly smoked German lagers. Not worthy.

33cl bottle, BBE aug 2014. Poured dark golden, clear, white head. Aroma has wet wool, light smoke and sweet malt. Flavor has dark fruits, malt, and peat. The peat is stronger later on. Long finish, medium bodied. Not bad, liked the peatiness.

330ml bottle from Alko

BBE FEB 2014 - Pours clear orange with a small bubbly head. Aroma of peated malts, herbal notes, hints of stingy fruits and wood. Taste is quite weird mix of peatiness and fruits, with hints of wood and grassy hops. Finish is smooth and mildly peated with some bitterness and fruity hoppiness. Quite unique beer, but unfortunately a bit unbalanced.

A copper brown beer with a weak and blond head. Aroma of malts, turf, some sweetness, hint of meat. Taste is slightly smoked, malts and sweetness, some turf, herbal bitterness. Medium bodied, low carbonation, easy to drink. Interesting beer, that isn’t what it looks like, balanced and light smoke and turf.

Bottle from Deeside Drinks Emporium. It pours clear amber with a small white head. The nose is honey, floral, peat, subtle smoke, TCP and leather. The taste is honey, floral, biscuit, light spice, peat, earth, medicinal accent and bitter citrus with a dry finish. Light-medium body and moderate carbonation. A bit too thin for my liking. I would have preferred a stronger smoked peat aspect. Still it’s not bad.
