Idjit is a potent imperial stout, black as the night and dark as sin. Loaded with roasted malts and the perfect amount of bittering hops, it is as smooth as it is powerful. A beer you can count on, any time, any where.
This beer started out as an experiment. Mikael likes to tell the story like this: One of our brewers wanted to see how strong a beer we could brew (at our old brewery in Mölndal). The result was a 16% imperial stout which according to Mikael was super gross; Too much of everything, unbalanced. An idiot beer if you will. However, after a few tries of scaling the recipe down and tweaking it a bit, getting the malt bill just right, we had made our idiot into our Idjit. And as we all know, Idjits rule!

Craft Clerkenwell 2nd Birthday Bonanza! Keg. Opaque dark black - brown beer/ Little pale tan head. Palate is softish. Smooth dark malt and malt cream. Touch of wood and roast. Whisper of dark fruits. Finishes smooth with more dark malt cream. Nice luxuriant feel here.

Keg at the CBC Clerkenwell during the Second Birthday Celebration - London. Pours dark brown with a creamy head. Nose of dark bread and dry chocolate. Medium sweet flavor, nice roast, cocoa, dirt. Full bodied with fine carbonation. Dry cocoa finish, moderate roasted malts, decent bitter earth, burnt toast. Really nice stuff.

A deep dark stout with a thin dark brown head. In aroma, a pungent bitter chocolate with smooth soy sauce and light peated. In mouth, a smooth bitter chocolate with light coffee, vanilla beans, nice and smooth.

02.06.2013, 0,33l bottle @ home:
Nice creamy longlasting head. Aroma is slightly neutral and roasted, dark malts, coffee, chocolate, caramel, nuts, a hint of unripe banana. Taste is balanced, roasted dark malts, burnt caramel, hay, cocoa, toast, dark sugar, grass, coffee, a hint of unripe banana. Medium bitterness, slightly dry mouthfeel. Fair enough, but nothing really special about it.

17/04 Anther ogivlado’s 0.33 l bottle, great thanks for sharing! It poured typical pitch black body with medium sized head. Wonderful roasted malt aroma, straightforward with coffee, some fine cocoa, real chocolate, touched with burnt sugar. Sweetish flavor, of course the same - roasted malt, coffee and cocoa being dominating and going towards bitter at first then again blended with the secondary sweetness that is prolonged well into its long finish. Marko and I picked some tobacco as well there. Full bodied, creamy on palate. Almost chewable, really tasty imperial stout.

Bottled 330ml. -from trade with Nisse666, thanks Thomas. Black coloured, small to medium sized brown head, pure chicory nose. Heavy roasted malt, dark chocolate and coffee with notes of licorice in rather roasty finish. Really enjoyable imp. stout.
