Black Oktober is a very special full bodied strong stout with a coffee froth style head which leads to a rich aroma of bitter chocolate and liquorice. The taste is bitter, alcoholic and warming with a dry roasted-grain finish.

Bottle at a ChrisO tasting, London. Pours cloudy brown with a very weak head. Tangy dark malt nose. Sweet flavor, well and tangy, with some dirt and berries. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. Has an odd tooth-coating feel to it. More tang in the finish, light chocolate. Odd and weak, with a terrible mouthfeel.

Bottle at Chriso - 25/09/12. Pours a murky dark brown with no head. Nutty aroma, smells like a Belgian stout , some dark fruits. Sour tasting, a little chocolate, woody, roast malt, earthy and musty tones. Medium bodied and a little on the thin/watery side. Distinctly unimpressed, something not right in the balance of this one!

500ml Bottle - Black in colour. Chocolate and soapy hops in the aroma. Milk chocolate, coffee and liquorice can all be detected in the smooth and roasted taste.
