Bottle from Deeside Drink Emporium. It pours near black with medium light tan head. The nose is toasty, rich roast, umami, charcoal, salted liquorice and cocoa. The taste is bitter, toasty, charred stuff, quite dry, burnt toast, some acidity, liquorice and earth with a very dry, charry finish. Light+ body and average carbonation. So-so mild. A bit too dry and charred.

Cask at Market Porter. Abv 3.5%. Brown clear color, small beige head. Light malty, nutty nose. Light-bodied. Light caramel, nuts, light tartness and even smoke(!). Weirdo.

Cask at Scottish Real Ale Festival 2014. Deep amber body with a thin off-white head that holds well. Aroma of grain and wood. Flavour of soft malts and stewed tea. Thin body with an oily texture. Good flavour for the ABV.

Cask @ Bow Bar, Edinburgh 270712
Black, thin ruby edges, tan head, good lacing
Aroma - roasted malts, burnt toast, hint of plain chocolate
Taste as aroma, roasted malts, some burnt toast, bit of chocolate
Palate - soft carb, medium body, soft mouthfeel. Finish as main flavour with some burnt bread crust.
Overall - Drinks well but I prefer my milds a bit sweeter, bit over burnt for me
