English: Brewed with home smoked malt, liqorice and honey. Medium bodied, dry, crisp lager background. Medium bitterness, aroma and flavour dominated by roasted malts, noble hops and a noticeable, but not overpowering smokiness. Think: Your favourite baltic porter with some extra layers of complexity and depth!

On tap at Ølfestival 2011. A dark brown beer, unclear, and topped by a two-finger, beige head. Smoked and roasted malts, alcohol, ham and some faint chocolate notes in the aroma. The flavor is on the roasted, smoked side, with ham, some nougat and a decent bitterness. Full-bodied, warming and pleasantly carbonated. Warm and roasted end. A really pleasant one. 110528

Draught at Olympen, happy eating and drinking with my nephews. Opaque, near-black body, tiny beige head to the rim of the glass. Prominent aroma of peaty malts, ashy dry. Chocolate malts underscored by a peaty backbone. Dry rounded on the swallow. Harmonious and far from heavy to drink (Oslo, 26.09.2011).

Draught @ Gastropub Nordic
Aroma has lots of liquorice and some smoke. Flavour has very much liquorice, which is slightly salty. Some smoke, chocolate and hints of ash too. One of the best baltic porters I’ve had. At the end of the glass the salt becomes too dominant though.

Draught @ Pikkulintu, Helsinki
Pours pitch black with a small foamy head. Massive roasty and smoky aroma with heavy notes of tar, licorice and bacon. Taste of smoked malts and ham. Notes of roastiness and tar. Finish is quite malty and slightly bitter. Great smoked beer and a quite well balanced porter.
